I had someone ask me..."what makes you different than the other magicians?" That's one of those odd on the spot questions. But, I took a breath...and said..."My personality makes my show different. It's not plastic and predictable like so many of the others...I'm having fun on stage and I think that helps my audience have a good time too" They booked me right then for their event.
Ric trivia....I was 22 when I first worked the Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA What a most amazing experience that was. I spent my off time in the library filled with magic books and notes.
I was 19 when I moved to Hilton Head. Got an offer to entertain in a restaurant in Harbor Town. Originally, a 6 week gig. That gig lasted 3 years.
There's a small Christmas theme park in Cherokee, NC...Santa's Land. I played there for 2 seasons. Then, I was at Ghost Town ( another theme park just over the mountain ) for 2 years.
I did my show on a Carnival cruise ship for awhile. Not only was I a performer...I had to call BINGO and be the aerobics instructor back then.
There have been so many other amazing and wonderful gigs along the way. The Kennedy Center's Children's Arts Festival was one of them.
